Palliative Care

It is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families who are facing problems associated with life threatening illness.

Palliative care improves and enhances the quality of life of patients and that of their families who are facing challenges associated with life – threatening illness. Palliative care involves a range of services delivered by a range professionals that we Eldergarten tries to provide in every way possible which includes physician, nursing ,support workers, paramedics, physiotherapist and volunteers in support of the patient and their family.
The great majority of people who need palliative care prefer to remain at home , thus it is medically and ethically necessary that palliative care be provided in the community as part of primary healthcare for which intricate infrastructure is needed to uplift the patients quality of life. Our experienced team working for 24hrs make sure that every small requirement is fulfilled at any point of time. The liason with the doctor paramedic and the support system helps us to fulfil these needs. In Palliative care comfort , respect for patients values and attention not only to patients but also to their families initiate a bonding and for long relationship which help us to work smoothly for the entire tenure.
Eldergarten gives emotional and social support and also bereavement support after the death of the patient. At any odd hours we reach the patients family and do the needful as palliative care demands continuous support 24×7. As our focus remains on providing relief from the symptoms through continuous follow up with doctors and caregivers and also to lower down the stress of the illness through continuous counselling with our team members.
5/5
In Rehabilitation and Palliative Care, we doctors always want that the support we have given to the patient in the hospital, continues in the home environment also. For many patients with chronic diseases, Home Care is the best treatment that we can offer. It decreases the chance of hospital acquired infections and reduces the financial burden on the family members. When it comes to ‘Home Care’, the name we can trust is ‘Eldergarten’. They can provide all necessary medical equipment within a very short period of time, along with trained nursing staff, who are able to take care of even critically ill patients with tracheostomy, colostomy, PEG tube etc. Taking care of a terminally ill patient most of the times creates caregiver exhaustion. Eldergarten, by providing supporting personnel for patient care, not only reduces the burden on the caregivers, also improves the quality of life of the patients and their family members. To me, Eldergarten is not only a company for supplying medical equipment and staff, but it is a social support system and we encourage development of such companies for the sake of our patients, who need continuation of medical care at their homes. My best wishes will always be there with Eldergarten for all the good services they are providing to the patients and the society as a whole.
